ColorMixing Indigo with Henna-I want it blue-black but still soft!Posted by Kelli on March 30, 2004 at 00:09:35: Hi everybody,Hi Catherine...I could not check get into my email account from this computer so I thought I would asks some questions on this forum... In reading some of the archived messages on indigo there seemed to be a theme of using pure red henna to tone down the blueness of indigo and also to add silkiness. I have dreadlocks so I am likely going to mix the henna and the indigo together before I make the jelly...There is not time enough in the day to dye my hair twice in one day...:) I want the maximum blue-black highlights possible, but I also want to conditioning and hold on to the color. But I don't want to tone down the blue any more than I have to... Does anyone have ideas on what kind of ratio (if any) I might use to maximize the blue pigment in the indigo without sacrificing any of the adhesive or conditioning qualities of the henna? your friend in henna and indigo related inquiries, Kelli Elise
