ACIDS and BASES-Possible Indigo recipe

Hey everybody...

I wanted to make a gelled indigo-henna mix by steeping the indigo in
an slightly alkaline baking soda-water mixture and separately
steeping the henna in an acidic blueberry juice mixture...then I was
going to bring the henna-blueberry juice to a boil again after dye
release and add the pectin...and mix them together for a smooth gel..

My question is whether adding the slightly basic indigo/baking soda
water mixture to the acidic henna/blueberry juice mixture will cause
some kind of bad chemical reaction in the gel form

Baking soda is only mildly basic with a PH of about 8...Water is 7.
