I'll try.Posted by Faery Ring on April 6, 2004 at 17:15:36: In reply to: Questions posted by Sarah on April 6, 2004 at 11:41:55: I can’t tell you how old is old for henna but if you don’t store itcorrectly it will go stale rather quickly. I know that some people have kept henna powder sealed in the freezer for over 2 years without deterioration. If it is too old you’ll know, as it won’t give much of a stain. One way to tell if it is too old is to smell it. It won’t smell like much. If you have mixed ground cloves into henna powder and wish to sift it out I don’t know what would do that. I would imagine the ground cloves are very finely ground and you can’t remove it from the henna powder once it has been added. Other people have used citrus juices successfully in their henna mixes. I have added essential oils into the henna mix to get better penetration of the henna dye. I don’t add a lot because it may cause scalp itching. So 20 drops or so per 100 grams is plenty for me. Be sure to check out the sister web site for a wealth of information on henna. A lot of the information found there is useful for hair. http://www.hennapage.com/
