Black roots, brownish red endsPosted by 10 on April 9, 2004 at 02:02:34: Hi! I hennaed my hair last night.. i've naturally black hair, buti've been dying it a medium brown for years. It wasnt until recently that i've decided to go natural. Here's my problem: the older, more porous parts of my hair got more henna than my virgin roots (about 1 1/2 inch long). is there any way i can correct this? is there any way to make my black hair dark brown? i used light mountain's dark brown henna (since that's the only one availabe in our health food store here in the philippines), with red wine and lemon for acid, and some coffee, english breakfast tea, and clove for the 'witches' brew'. i also terped it with tea tree oil and a bit of rosemary) and the result was brownish red ends with black roots.. there are couple of other henna brands available ( Amir and Naajo) but i dont trust em as much coz they didnt list any of the ingredients.. any feedback on these brands? thanks so much :)
