Tired of silver wanna be a redhead

My hair is shoulder length and silver. Completely silver, not grey.

I want reddish brown hair or !HEY! red hair but get allergy scalp
from home hair colour kits. I haven't tried them for about 9 years.
Nothing would cover it anyway, and was told I needed to DYE. I can't
afford salon colouring and can't stand the whole scene in those
salons anyway.

What do you recommend? Anyone?
