tip on Fia's methodPosted by Jane on April 27, 2004 at 10:58:42: Just thought I'd let everyone know about a modification of Fia's gelmethod to make it a bit less messy. First of all, thanks Fia! I love the gel technique--it is so much easier!! Ok, instead of pouring the water over the henna and herbs (and whatever you add to your mix), put your ingredients in one of those paper tea diffusers (or any other diffuser--but don't use metal, remember). You may have to use MANY of them to fit all of your ingredients. But, when the soak is over you just pull them out--no need to run the mix through cheesecloth. It is as easy as making tea! You may want your mix to sit longer with this method, since the ingredients are not dispersed in the liquid. Anyway, after you have taken out the henna and other goodies, you have your water/dye, and you can follow Fia's instructions to "gel" it. Have fun!
