henna and a sore neck

Hi all,
I am henna-ing tonight and have a question for all you seasoned
henna users out there. I have BSL hair. When I pile all the henna
hair on top of my head. I develop a sore neck. I have to periods
of time without a towel on my head to lessen some of the weight. I
was wondering what some of you out there did for 2+ hours waiting
period while the henna works.
