Indigo and hair damage

I've read on an old post that indigo can damage hair becouse of the
alkaline ash that can remain in it and that there can be a problem if
you do indigo time after time.. I'm worried becouse I'm planning to
do only indigo and no henna for a long time!
If I add an acidic substance like vinegar or lemon the alkaline ph
becomes neutral so no damage for hair... Is there something else I
should know?
