As henna only adds an orange-red cast to the hair, your natural base will shine through and determine the final color. The lighter the base - the more intense the action of the orange-red would be; the darker the base - the more muted the action would be. From that also follows that a blonde would be a fiery red with henna, where a light/medium brown like myself will turn auburn and a dark brown would only get a reddish cast of an otherwise brown base. /Fia
