I suspect liquid henna is what the cosmetic texts are referring to as "compound henna" .... a mix of metallic salts and *some* henna. I kept hearing people over at HP saying "henna has lead in it, doesn't it" and people saying their beauticians talking about all the "metals" in henna. Well ... there's a line of "henna" hair products that DO have metallic salts, including aluminum salt and lead salt. NOT BODY ART HENNA! I'm going to try to stear this site towards finding clarity about whatthafuk all is labeled "henna". The bewildering labeling seems to be a source of major misconceptions (and major malfunctions). Metallic salts were always used by dyers alter color. Most of them strike me as something you wouldn't really want on your skin, though ......
