soapnutPosted by Pam F. on May 10, 2004 at 10:02:22: Hi! I was wondering if the soapnut would take the henna stain out ofthe hair as it is also used to take out the colors used in the "Festival of Lights" in India. Also, has anyone ever had a delayed allergic reaction to henna, indigo, etc. I used it a second time a week ago and put allot of other stuff in the paste (like indigo, walnut powder although only a little bit of each). Then after letting the henna paste mixture set on my hair for 4 hrs., I rinsed allot using conditioner, then shampooing as usual. Then I rinsed with a diluted vinegar solution that had been mixed with the senna water. The minute I put the vinegar water on my head I felt a burning sensation on the top of my head so I hurriedly washed it out! It didn't burn as bad anymore but now a week later I have a light rash on the top of my head and I have allot of hair breakage which I didn't have before the first time that I hennaed! What could have caused this? I didn't have this problem the first time I hennaed especially with the hair breakage and dryness. I think that I will listen to Catherines advice next time I henna and just use plain henna and lemon juice in the paste...the simpler the better. I do like playing and making up different mixes though. Any advice?
