Hey Diane

I recently dyed my hair with henna for the first time and the color is more orangey
than I was hoping ... I am also "cool toned"

I just ordered a different type of henna, hoping to get a more redder/cooler color,
and also some indigo. I am going to try adding a small proportion of the indigo with
the henna, hoping to cool down the color -- I might add some beetroot too, which
was suggested might bring it more towards burgundy than orange.

Anyway, I will be your guinea pig LOL and let you know how my highlights turn out --
I have a substantial amount of gray (white) that turned pretty bright / brassy with the
henna; they're orange now, so I plan to re-henna with the henna/indigo mix so that
I'm doing it over orange rather than white ...

I'll let you know if I get green or something weird :-)

: The experience you have had with mixes containing indigo makes me a
: bit wary of trying it; I was wondering if it would help push my
: colour towards a more purpley type red. But I do have a lot of
: lighter hair which might take it up funny. Also, I keep hearing from
: people here that it seems to fade very fast.
:
: Just like yourself, I naturally have the combination of cool skin &
: eyes with warm tones in my hair.
