Henna for Grey HairPosted by Kat on May 16, 2004 at 11:09:39: I have seen several posts about henna for grey hair. I only knowwhat I experienced with it, but it might be helpful to someone. I have about 25% gray in dark brown hair, with a white streak at front that I have had since I was a teenager. I went for about 2 years with no color at all because I was sick of the condition my hair was in from chemical colorants. Then a year ago I decided to try henna. I got a red from the health food store, but it turned the white part bozo the clown orange. I immediately tried a medium brown henna on it and it toned it down. I used the medium brown with moderate satisfaction for a few months, then found this site. I immediately ordered body art quality pure henna and the results were amazing. I got a deep rich red over the white and dark rich auburn for the rest. I have never had so many compliments on hair color. I just mix it with lemon juice and leave it overnight, then apply and leave it on for 2 - 4 hours. I cannot stress enough te HUGE difference between using the prepared mixes and the pure body art quality henna. It was unbelievable. If you are not getting satisfactory results with the pre-packaged mixes, give the high quality henna a try. Good luck! Kat
