how do you rinse?

i rinsed out my henna by jumping in the shower and working my hands
through my hair until all the henna and grit were out, but then i was
covered in tiny particles of stuff, and so was my shower. do you all
just deal with the clean-up, or is there another way to rinse that
doesn't get grit on the walls?
