tested the Black henna on a part of my head

Well I mixed a bit of the black henna from Dubai with water and
applied it liberally to a portion of my hair near my ear (which I
knew I could cover up if it turned green!)
The colour has turned to the shade of kristens mom i.e bluey black or
like the other photo on the indigo page.
But before I jump in and do the rest of my hair next week.
How can I be sure that this powder is not actually a dangerous dye?
Can some experienced forum user help me?
The powder is made in India and is sold in 10gm sachets and the brand
name is Black Gold-Black henna
when I mixed it the powder colour did not turn blue nor did it turn
black.
But it was a sticky consistency.
