Re: Curious--Question for those of you with grey hair and/or ash colored hair--should I go red?Posted by Pierre on May 22, 2004 at 18:38:21: In reply to: Curious--Question for those of you with grey hair and/or ash colored hair--should I go red? posted by Jane on May 22, 2004 at 15:08:25: : Just as I started pondering going red with henna I saw an elderly: woman who appeared to be using henna to cover her nearly 100% grey : hair. Her hair was an unattractive orange color. I know some of you : report that you have grey hair, but your pictures in the mixes : section look GREAT, nothing like the woman I just mentioned! Is this : because only a small percentage of your hairs are grey, or is it : because you are using higher quality henna? Do you plan to continue : to henna as you acquire more and more grey hair? My sideburns, were I not hennaing, would be entirely gray. My top hair is two-toned and I like it - the hairs that would be gray look like tiny fiber optic lights in my hair. I've had one guy ask me why I had so many colors in my beard (several weeks after the last henna, so I had white roots showing) but the others like it. I do it as much for the smell nowadays as for the look - it's getting hot, so you can smell a clear picture of me in my hair, but the background is a pretty clove color instead of stunken sweat. Hard to predict thirty years into the future, but I see no reason to stop.
