: How soon after hennaed can you wash your hair?
: Will shampooing wash out the colour?
: And how to retained the dye on the hair for longer duration?
: I am new to henna but a friend told me that I must not shampoo my hair
: straight after washing henna from hair and shampoo actually wash out
: the dye.
: Any tips from the experienced would be appreciated

Several people, including me, find that we don't need to shampoo or don't need to
use as strong a shampoo on hennaed hair. The henna fills in the pores that are due
to wear and gives the hair a smooth surface that doesn't hold dirt. I use jojoba
and shea. Jojoba doesn't go rancid and tells the skin that there's enough sebum so
it doesn't make much. When my hair gets wet it smells like cloves, not germs. So I
just need to rinse it with water and apply the jojoba-shea mixture.
