I thought that what I wrote above sounded all wrong and not what I
meant at all. To restate: When I boiled JUST the senna pods (the
ones you sent me as a sample) the water that they were boiled in
turned red. I dipped a white paper towel in the water and it did
NOT turn but slightly pinkish (maybe?). So, I guess to answer my own
questions about the senna being a dye...it therefore doesn't have
the same dying properties as henna or indigo do. It just made the
water it was boiled in turn red. But I do believe that it must have
some very special properties that are altogether different from the
other two plants. Besides, it is a very attractive plant (I think)
as well. I guess that I was just wondering out loud about these
different plants mostly. Sorry for interrupting the main train of
thought here!
