Ah. Rats.Posted by Elettaria on June 7, 2004 at 03:50:53: In reply to: Re: The other thing I'm wondering posted by Catherine Cartwright-Jones on June 6, 2004 at 09:50:28: Well, I've done about half a dozen tests on my own hair samples. Ileft most of them for 2 hours for the dye to release, some for three. I only tried the method with a bit of white kitchen towel laid over the cling film with a recent sample; before that I stirred it around and inspected it for colour changes. How much colour should we be seeing on the kitchen roll? I didn't actually bother doing that for K's sample, I just bunged it into a little tub and then went back to bed before taking it round. So what would you recommend doing this time? No olive oil, obviously (I have to admit that slightly more than I'd intended came out), just henna, cloves, lemon juice and water? What would you guess to be optimal dye release time? It's nearly 9.00 am now and she's coming round after she finishes work at 6 this evening. And how long should we leave it on for? Did you approve of my idea of making enough for two strands, so that the old one gets longer in total, or is that pointless since the old one was a flop? Are we better off starting from scratch, doing two strands but leaving the henna on each for different lengths of time, and if so, how long would you recommend?
