I have wondered the same thing about the huisache tree which is a
native accacia (sp?) to Texas and Mexico. It says somewhere on the
web that it is used as a natural dye by the Indians. What about
mesquite tree pods which grow like weeds here in Texas....or Pride
of Barbados (Caelselpinia..sp?) I just like plants anyway so
wondering about them seems natural. There is a plant called the
clitoral (sp?) that is a vine with beautiful blue flowers supposed
to be used for blue dye in Japan (called Japanese indigo)??? Sorry
to interrupt all the trains of thought here.................. ; >
