I have my doubts about how natural they arePosted by Ele on June 10, 2004 at 15:40:05: In reply to: How about Lush? posted by Dee on June 10, 2004 at 14:26:09: They do annoying things like go on about all the essential oils theyinclude in their products, then totally mask the effect with artificial fragrances, which in my opinion are overdone. I'm incredibly picky about fragrance, though, I can't stand most artificial ones and it took me years to find perfumes that I liked. But they're very popular so worth a try. Here's the ingredients list for their "Rehab" shampoo, as a random example: Ingredients: Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Carrageenan Infusion, Sodium Alkyl Sulfate, Cocamide DEA, Cocamide MEA, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Fresh Papaya Juice (Carica papaya), Fresh Pineapple Juice (Ananas comosus), Salt (Sodium Chloride), Fresh Kiwi Juice (Actinidia chinensis), Perfume, Fresh Mango Juice (Mangifera indica), Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis), Peppermint Oil (Mentha piperita), Rosemary Oil (Rosmarinus officinalis), Rose Oil (Rosa centifolia), Juniperberry Oil (Juniperus communis), Lavender Oil (Lavendula hybrida), Olive Oil (Olea europaea), Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Propylparaben, Methylparaben. I tried the Napiers shampoo this morning, by the way, and wasn't wildly excited. It smelt of lemongrass and pretty much nothing else, and I can only take so much lemongrass and reached my limit on it years ago. Another company in the UK that I can strongly recommend is Honesty. I've not actually tried their shampoos, but I've tried just about everything else. Very high proportion of natural ingredients, no artificial perfumes, lovely essential oils, no animal testing or ingredients, fantastic for sensitive skin, and they're cheap too. I've been getting their stuff in bulk for years, stocking up on 5 litre bottles of shower gel, base lotion and so on. Not to mention the orders from the House of Mistry, where I tend to order around ten bottles of shampoo, conditioner and soapless soap a few times a year.
