Is it because I've got it totally covered by cling film, which is
actually touching the henna? It's in a little ceramic bowl and I
imagine no air can get in, what with the cling film sealing it off.
However, the bits of henna round the edges seem to be changing colour,
which I think are bits which weren't touched by the cling film. The
henna in the middle hasn't changed at all. It's been in for four
hours, by the way, and usually this henna gives dye release in two,
certainly in three.

When I made up the sample for K, I did it in a plastic tub and put the
lid straight on, so that won't have got any air either. Is the
problem ack of oxygen, perhaps?
