help re gel mixes

re fia's gel mix, i tried it but the henna only stood for 20 mins or
so, i did get a slight dye but nothing compared to other times that
i have hennaed. wondering how to let it stand for dye release for
gel mix? it was much easier to apply, and didn't drip as much so i
would like to have another go!
