I usually use tea tree and lavebder EOs because they're good for the
scalp. It also helps the dye get into the hair and smells good, to
boot. I used patchouli once - after an hour, I thought I was going
to pass out from the smell overload, and it made my scalp itch for a
few days after, so I won't be trying that again.
