I gave up on hennaing my hair years ago, it's the same length as your
daughter's; red didn't really suit me and it was an almighty hassle.
However, I met a woman with hair nearly as long, beautifully hennaed.
She said that she doesn't henna the whole thing every time, just the
roots. Maybe that would be a solution for your daughter? Or
alternate full hennaing and root hennaing?
