I donated sixteen inches of hair (pre my adventures with henna) to
Locks of Love in March - it was quite a change, as I hadn't cut my
hair in two years. ^_^;;

There are a lot of salons that will cut your hair for free if you are
donating and will send the hair in for you. Check
http://www.locksoflove.org/ for more information. They have a list
of participating salons and information about how your hair is used
and such. They won't accept any less than 10 inches of hair, so be
ready for a substantial trim if you do decide to donate. Good luck!
