In fact, I wash it twice - I like to really prep the surface, so to speak, and then I wait until it's fully dry before putting in the henna. My mix is straight henna, boiling water, and several tablespoons of a very high-quality conditioner (I use Redken with a UV filter). Let me tell ya, my hair is so beautiful that total strangers stop me on the street to ask me about it. I had nice hair before, but it began to gray while I was still in my teens. After using chemical colors for years I finally let it grow out in order to use henna. I've been hennaing for about two years and I'm completely sold - wouldn't use anything else. I find clean hair works best, no conditioner. When I first started : hennaing, I had to use a bit of conditioner simply to get a comb : through my washed hair before I put the henna on. I don't think it : would work in your henna mix. If anything, it might impede the henna : from really getting into the hair shaft. : : : Hello, : : I was wondering if anyone does something special to their hair : right : : before a henna application, besides shampooing it, for better : henna : : penatration. : : Also... : : Is it better to not condition right before hennaing it? Or does : the : : conditioner add to better henna penatration? Has anyone ever tried : : adding conditioner to their henna mix?
