I terp my hair henna with either clove or lavender (depends on the
season--cloves in the winter make me feel warm, lavender in the
summer makes me feel cool and breezy). It doesn't speed up the
process, but it does let more of the dye release, so theoretically if
you did half your head with regular, unterped henna, and the other
half with terped, and left them on the same length of time, the
terped half would be more intense, probably darker red. Honestly,
I'm using my terps to mask the "I just covered my head in hay" scent.
