Yes, you can use EO. If you read through the old threads you can
see what others are using. I do not believe it is necessary to use
them for conditioning, but it would make your hair smell nice.

You can add olive oil or an egg or mayonnaise for conditioning if
you like, but I don't intend to do so myself. I personaly use
coconut oil the day before shampooing. I use it like a hair
dressing. I use just a little, not enough to make it greasy. I am
going to get some Neem powder to put into my Henna and Cassia as an
Indian friend, who uses it, told me it would be very good for my
hair. I use apple cider vinegar in tea made with Rosemary, Sage,
Nettles, and Calendula (marigold flowers). This keeps the cuticles
down, as does the Henna. I use this after shampooing but before
conditioning. I have been doing this for a year and a half. I am
looking into floral water rinses as a final rinse for the smell.
For me that is all the conditioning I need and I may give up the ACV
tea and conditioner as I Henna more (I've only hennaed three times
soon to be four). My hair is waist length, hasn't been trimmed in
11 months, and has almost no split or broken ends. I am going to
see how long I can go without a trim and how long my hair will
grow. Thanks to Henna my hair is thicker, but I hope to get it a
little thicker yet. Long hair is pretty as long as it is thick and
the ends are in good condition. My hair is very dark brown to black
so what I do will not work for someone with light hair. They would
need to use Chamomile and green tea instead of Sage and Rosemary.

Now as far as heat goes, I don't think it matters, but I don't
really know. I've done the Henna both ways and all the heat did was
dry the Henna in my hair and what a mess that was to rinse out!
