Do I have to do indigio RIGHT AFTER the henna?

I want to go for the black color, eventually. But I was wondering if
I HAVE to do the indigo the same day I rinse out the henna, or can I
wear the henna for a while.. keep redying and let it build up.. and
then a while later do it with indigo one day and get black? Also,
should I let the henna build up for a darker black?
