Deadlocks and henna...?

I have dreadlocks in my hair, they're about 4 months old and
knotting up very well. I want to die my hair, and although I can do
it with synthtic dyes I would rather stick with the "all natural"
thing you aquire with dreads (I do wash my hair!) So can anyone tell
me if you can dye dreads with hennah? Will I need to take on any
scecial techniques or methods? Will it damage my dreads at all, or
look bad? How can I protect my skalp and face from getting died
while still getting all of the hair? If any one has any answers or
addition tips please tell me. Thank you..!
