green hair hopePosted by Adrienne on July 4, 2004 at 19:22:40: I have seen it mentioned a few times to go over the greeninsh tintwith a red henna, does anyone recommend any 1 brand over another,, or have tried and true favorites? I have made the mistake of using Mountian Light, and I am not incredibly pleased with my green tinted hair. Yikes! Does a molasses/baking soda mixture help ease the green? -Adrienne : Just thought this might be helpful for anyone else who has suffered : a greening of their hennaed hair. I haven't used any synthetic dye : to cause this and the henna I use is definitely free of mettalic : salts (I use Lush henna). I think it happened because of styling : products such as a gel with glittery bits. And I think its only the : bits of hair that had a high proportion of "brown" indigo henna. : This happened to me before years ago with a different brand of brown : henna and indigo mix.I think that indigo has a stronger tendency to : turn greenish gray.ANYWAY here is the good news. I put a red henna : over the greeny bits and now nearly all of the green has gone/been : covered by nice copper chestnut. I did use a clarifying shampoo : several times beforehand to get rid of any of the styling products I : think caused it.
