: I used Henna on my hair in May and June of this year 2004. My
: questions
: are:
:
: 1.) If I want to get my hair straightened by my hair stylist, how
: long
: do I have to wait to get it done? Would I be able to get it done
in
: March of 2005?
:
If you're talking chemicals to permanently straighten, I think it's
been mentioned here in the forum that it's a bad idea to use henna
and do that. As for how long to wait from your last hennaing to
straighten - sorry, I can only guess it's a few months, as it is
with chemical dyes. Anybody out there with more knowledge...please
respond...

: 2.) Will I be able to go swimming in a swimming pool anytime soon
: without worring about my hair turning a different color? (my hair
: color now
: is brown with red highlights).
:
Swimming doesn't seem to cause any problems with henna, assuming
you're using pure henna, not a compound mix. It would be a good idea
to use jojoba, coconut or some such oil as a protectant, no matter
what, as chlorine is pretty harsh to any hair. Even just soaking
your hair with pure water before going in will help, so you're not
soaking up chlorinated water into dry hair.

: 3.) Is there any way a hair dresser can strip the Henna from your
: hair
: without your hair being ruined?
:
Ummm...not really. You CAN bleach your hair, but that in and of
itself is pretty bad for your hair, no matter what. Henna binds with
your hair, plain and simple.

Hope this helped...

: Thanks so much!
