I'm not Fia (nor do I play her on tv) but I'm sitting here 5 1/2 hours into my henna'ing with a modified version of her gelled henna receipe.... I used 100g of henna and mixed in 350 mL of microwaved lemon juice last night--I set it to dye release overnight with 5 drops of lavender EO. Then this morning--after seeing the dye release--I added another 200 mL of nearly boiling lemon juice that I'd put the packet of pectin in and mixed it all up, plus a few more drops of the lavender EO....it became the consistency of brownie batter and has been the EASIEST and least messy way I've tried to henna so far. I tried it without the pectin last time and spend the whole henna cleaning up drips. Ugh.
