I have found that : either I get hardly any results at all or I get orange hair. My natural color is mousy : light brown. Last time I hennaed, a couple of months ago, I used 1/2 Light Mountain : Auburn and 1/2 Light Mountain Red, with cider vinegar and lavender oil. I left it on : for half an hour. I was pretty happy with the results from that, but for the first few : days my hair was very orange. : : My question is: how can I get results that are less orange? I was thinking of trying : grape juice. Also, I have been assuming that the less time the henna is on, the less : color will go into the hair. Is this true, or would the hair be less orange and more dark : red if I left it on for a longer time? : : Next time I will buy better quality henna; I didn't discover this site until recently. : : Thanks for any advice. The longer you leave the henna on your hair, the more time the hair has to pick up the stain, so the deeper the shade (in theory, atleast). With a good quality henna left on for a few hours, you should get a much less noticable orange glow...unfortunately, I don't think anyone's yet figured out how to not get it completely. On Intensity Too's question of dye release, there's a table somewhere that shows dye release for henna by temperature and time...I'll go see if I can find it. If someone else knows right off hand, maybe they can link?
