First thought - what quality of henna are you using? Orange hues are usually from
less-than-stellar quality henna. I get orange overtones from lesser quality henna even
on light/medium brown hair.

For reddening the henna you can try:

- Ground cloves
- Cognac
- Grape juice (for a more bluish red)
- Beetroot powder or juice (for a more true red)
- Paprika powder

The already dyed hair may darken some - leave it for up to 48 hours to see what the
final color really looks like. Several layers of henna may also help bring the color
darker.
