Do check whether they actually use it themselves, and how much they
know about it. The woman at the local hippy shop that sells henna
doesn't know a single thing about henna, and has helpfully informed me
that henna is very temporary and that it doesn't make any difference
if the boxes are years out of date, along with various other myths.
She's selling different types of henna including the dodgy stuff with
metallic salts or added chemicals. However, the henna which she said
was body art quality does seem to have done a good job on my two
friends whom I've hennaed. Worth asking, but take what they say with
a pinch of salt.
