Hi Everybody
I'm new at using henna and I am somewhat obsessed with it.
....trying to make a long story short.
I'm Afro-American, with thick hair (my hair has been braided since
last November); my hair is about 3 to 4 inches in the back below my
shoulders.
I've seen on the web that 100gm is good for shoulder length hair.
Which for length means that 200gm should be enough; factor in the
thickness (my hair sticks out almost like Ronald MacDonalds's) I
would say 400gm...add a little more for length and say 500gm
altogether. How is that for figuring?
Well I used about 650gm of henna; I left it on for about 7 hours and
I love the results; my hair is soft; and my grey is a deep red.
Now imagine the little blow when I bought henna (not "body art"
quality).....500gm for $5.00 and then order "body art" Morrocan henna
for $8.00/100gm....wow...when I saw the amount I was shocked... You
see I thought 100gm would be 500gm....don't ask...I'm trying to keep
a long story short...(smile).
But my question...just how much henna for someone like me?? Did I
somehow use too much?????....even though I used it all and the
consistancy was something like yogart......and my hair was not
completely cover (my ends just would not get under the henna, even
during the strand test, It was hard to get the ends under the paste.)
ps...the body art quality henna from Morroco is great, I put some on
my feet and nails and made a thumb ring from the finger of a hand
stencil.....only for a little more than a hour and the stain is
sooooo pretty.
Girls I'm hooked and so excited.....
