Just wanted to reply to this part of your post.... I had been
chemically dyeing my naturally brown hair red for nearly ten years
and just switched to henna a few months ago. I was able to
successfully use henna on my previously dyed red hair with NO problem
at all.... The henna'ed roots that are growing in (those that aren't
grey to begin with) are darker than the rest of my hair, but still
have enough red to make it not look totally awful.
