First you dye your hair with henna. That brings it to some sort of
red. Then you dye over that with indigo. That should get it fairly
dark on the first go, but it may not get you all the way to black.
Wait a few days for the color to stabilize. Then do henna again
followed by indigo. The two-part process seems to do a good job.
Part of it is just red-orange + navy blue + black, but there's more to
it ... henna is acidic and indigo is alkaline, so they're working
together, not just sitting on top of each other.
