hair dyeing after henna possible at ALL?

Dear Henna experts...

I'm a caucasian girl, who naturally has reddish brownish hair. I've
used henna all over my head (I did it in streaks at first) about 3 or
4 times now. THIS summer however, I have not been pleased with the
color, as in the sunlight it looks a little freaky orange and not so
much lovely and vibrant any more. My good ole reddish brownish roots
have grown to be about 2 or 3 inches now, and I feel slightly
hideous. I bought hairdye, like the chemical real deal hair dye, and
just before I used THANK GOD I read the box. It said don't use it
over hennaed hair.

I don't want to use henna again really, and I'm looking for other
hair dye options that you may be privy to. It's my own fault if I
just have to grit my teeth and grow it out. All I really want is
evenly colored hair again!
