Is Henna Warm when you first apply? Henna in hair now...Help!

First time user... just put the henna in my hair at 8:30 a.m. I
really put a LOT in my hair. I overwrapped it with saran wrap. In
the beginning my hair felt warm, not burning just warm. Is this
normal? Shall I wash it out?
