Sorry if all my questions : sound silly, but I really have no idea about dyeing hair. I have no idea about dyeing hair either! Anything and everything I know I learned here, and from doing my own hair with body quality henna... By all accounts, coffee, though reputed to add browner tones, doesn't make that much difference, really. People complain about the coffee smell lingering in their hair for weeks and of the caffeine buzz they get when they have the coffee mixed henna on their heads! I did do some test runs with coffee and I must say it gave me the darkest colour I managed to achieve with all experimental mixes, but dark RED! I think once there is good quality henna in the mix you're gonna get red... Black walnut powder supposedly works, though I never tried it; but best of all is an indigo mix. Kim A got a lovely chestnut brown with indigo + henna, check her out again. I think the only thing to do is maybe get some samples from Catherine and do some tests. Its good fun and quickly becomes addictive (never actually hoped my hair would fall out before, LOL).
