The color I'm achieving (after a few without indigo when I started) is a dark auburn.
On my roots it's a little more like a medium reddish-ash brown (I do have a lot of
gray, so I can see what the "new color" is as opposed to on the ends where it's the
building up of many layers) ...

Anyway, there is always going to be some red tones when you're using henna, but
using the henna and indigo you can achieve a nice cooler, less bright dark brown-
auburn.
