Evaluating information on the WebPosted by Roy on August 22, 2004 at 19:52:41: [I posted this on the Henna Forum earlier today and Catherine asked meto put it up here as well...] One of the best things about the Web is that anyone can publish anything at any time. One of the worst things about the Web is that anyone can publish anything at any time. A lot of misinformation, disinformation, nonsense and just plain lies have been published to the Web and become articles of faith because they were effectively presented, wrapped up in authoritative looking sites and accepted by enough enough uncritical readers. Anyone using the Web as an information source needs to understand how to evaluate a site and its content. The link I've posted below is a good place to start. It presents a checklist approach to site evaluation that can help anyone trying determine the validity of information presented on the Web.
