wow...I'm not so sure I know the answer to this one. i tried it on
my hennaed hair, and my individual result was not any noticable
change...

I don't think the lemon/chamomile will go through the henna and
lighten the hair being protected bt it.

Henna is like a transparent film...the final color will be the
starting hair color with a transparent red "shield" over it.

You would do real good if you posted this same question in the forum
to Catherine Cartwright-Jones: she is working towards her Ph.D in
henna (I didn't even know there was such thing!) and has been
hennaing her hair for years.

If I were you, I'd just run a simple strand test and see what
happens.

Would lemon juice or lemon and chamomile lighten hennaed hair?
: Would it lighten the henna, or just the hair underneath?

: : Hi Gingirella
: :
: : Chamomile won't lighten your hair alone, but it does revive
golden
: : and blonde colors. Chamomile has never, ever dryed my hair. I
: don't
: : think it can. On the contrary, I've found it quenches the thirst
: my
: : hair has.
: : It also smells very nice!
: :
: : If you want to lighten your hair, mix half lemon juice and half
: : chamomile tea. If you have a squirting ketchup bottle (but them
at
: : convenience stores), fill it up with the mix.
: : Put it on and go outdoors to let the sun work its' magic on the
: : concoction.
: : It takes a few days, like 4 or so.
: :
: : I tried it myself!
: : (and my hair is pretty dark--it still worked)
: :
: : Let me know how it goes!
: : Jade
: :
: : Careful not to use lemon alone, especially when used daily, as
it
: : can cause itching and dryness of the scalp.

: :
: : : Hi everbody. I have a question. Can chamomile used alone
: lighten
: : : hair or does it need to be used in conjunction with lemon
juice.
: : :
: : : Also, if it CAN lighten alone, without lemon, is chamomile
: : damaging
: : : or drying to the hair as lemon is supposed to be?
