I just henna'd my hair finally! I'd been dying my hair since Iwas 14 - with the last chemical application done around the December time frame (I'm 24 right now).... My hair's normally a medium to light brown (lighter towards the ends of the hair, dark towards the roots, assuming the dye faded out to show more or less, the lnatural color lol), and its about waist length. For some reason I've escaped noticable chemical fry and damage from hair dyes - but I was tired of the chemical dye - and I went vegetarian, so have been on a search for natural non animal involved ways to color hair. I was using Jason's Natural Cosmetics red enhancer shampoo to add red to my hair - but the shampoo came in a smaller bottle and was pricey to use every day.... Anywhooo..... I tried the henna and the color is awesome. It's not outrageously red - but has a nice coppery red color to it that's noticable when the light hits, but very subdued without light. Also tried the eyebrows - and same thing... :-) Since I've been using the red enhancing shampoo, the henna switch wasn't drastic - the folk at work think I'm a natural red head, so yay on that one! : Hey you guys, : I did it! I have henna on my head right now, even after being scared : and doing a lot of hairbrush tests, fearing that something "green" : might happen (because of chemical color I used 4 months ago): @. : I thing I will leave it on for about 4 hours. Well, I guess it depends : on how long I can bear to have something heavy on my head : )! : Well I'll let you know how it came out! : Loretta and Elletaria, thanks for your feedback about my indigo problem. : You were right, after taking the fancy stuff out and letting it : release the dye longer, it worked, and the green tint dissappeared. : I decided to do henna only, because I like how light my hair is right : now, and I can always indigo later : ). Red is good! : I don't think my husband appreciates the henna scent though : ), but : he's excited too!
