Valerie, on another website they recommend doing just that! Some
people feel that it seals in the oils when you henna. Others feel
that they would rather have hair as clear of oils as possible before
they henna as they either feel they get better color coverage that
way or that the henna itself has all of the conditioning that you
need. I feel that it depends on the condition of each individuals
hair to start with. You may need (as I did) the extra conditioning
of the oils to start with. Some people add oils to the mix after
dye release to make it more manageable and smoother. But just a
couple of tablespoons.
