Its clearly misinformation, and I'm intrigued how misinformation originates and propogates. I went through the university research databases last night for ziziphus spina christi. (this from a couple of monster databases, and if I can't find a reference among them ..... as they detabase over 100 million books and articles ...and simply could NOT turn up anything stating that its marketed as neutral henna. I found it has some tannins, is not particularly effective against yeast infections ... lots of stuff. Now, if I can go through databases that size, and only turn up one "soft" reference that says it has been used in hair dyes ... I'm certainly not persuaded that ziziphys = neutral henna. Just doesn't hold up. It sure wasn't in the dissertataion in natural hair dyes that I found, not as neutral henna, not as nuthin'. I found plenty valid resouces naming cassia obovata as neutral henna (and I verified that with exporters) So ........... dunno what you've got there. I know cassia obovata = cassia obovata, and that's widely exported and documented as neutral henna, though most of the info on that is in other languages, not English... So is somebody's misinformation just getting repeated and repeated? I wonder.
