Hi again, Another query, if I may: many of you discuss leaving your mixes for some hours in order to obtain dye release. Please forgive my ignorance, but why is this step so important? In other words, if I just slop it on and leave it overnight [as I used to do when I hennaed some years back], I'd assume that the dye releae will take place on the hair itself, rather than in the bowl. In looking at your chart on the Mixes page, I see that many of you leave the mix in the bowl much longer than on your heads. I feel rather like a little sister asking her big sisters about this, so I appreciate your advice - thanks in advance.
